“A revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love.”

Have you ever read the fine print on the side of a prescription bottle, only to be completely taken aback by the long list of nasty side effects? Wouldn’t it be great if, instead, you could get a prescription that came with a set of highly beneficial side effects, like reduced anxiety, better sleep, or more energy?
We have alternative therapies available to us now that not only deliver on these promises, but that have proven their efficacy for thousands of years. Some of these modalities come under the heading of what I call “The 3M’s”: Music, Movement and Meditation. (Note: “Movement” includes yoga, dance, martial arts, and other forms of physical fitness).

It is by combining these time-tested modalities with new discoveries in science, and the power of exponential technologies, that we will revolutionize health care. New technologies offer greater opportunity to integrate alternative therapies into more traditional health systems; to track data, to personalize treatment, and to scale solutions to reach millions in need. By drawing from what we have learned in design, psychology and entertainment, and incorporating the Technologies of Emotion, we can make wellness tools more engaging and attractive to the user.
