“There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophies.”
– Friedrich Nietzsche
The second “M” of the 3M Revolution is “Movement”. In our recent workshop at the Exponential Medicine conference, we chose yoga for the focus of our “Movement” portion. Despite its many attributes, yoga exploded in the West primarily as a physical mind-body practice through asana classes. In the larger context of health and wellness, however, yoga offers us a gateway to a whole world of time-tested healing and lifestyle practices of the East, known as Ayurveda. Yoga, which means “union”, could also be looked at as the union of fitness and mindfulness – two key pillars of health in any culture.
I was honored to have Felicia Tomasko, my dear friend and a true leader in the West for both yoga and Ayurveda, join us for the workshop. To hear some of Felicia’s words of wisdom, check out the video excerpt below from our workshop for global leaders in health care and technology.
