As I travel around the world, I always like to ask the thought leaders, parents and influencers that I meet this one question: “If you could leave one essential gift to the next generation to help them thrive in a future filled with exponential change and uncertainty, what would it be?”
I get all kinds of great answers: from education to empathy, and from self-confidence to clean water.
Personally, I cheat a little – I give two answers:
Creativity
I want to help them fulfill their creative potential because, with creativity, they will have a greater capacity to adapt to change and embrace unknown with ease and confidence.
The 3Ms: Knowledge and Practices to Maintain Balance and Equanimity
I would teach them the 3Ms (Music, Movement and Meditation) and show them how they can use these practices to maintain health and equanimity in mind, body and spirit, so they can bring themselves into a balanced and relaxed state in the midst of chaos and disruption.
